ELEVATING THE VOICES OF HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION SURVIVORS

The 2018 Botswana National Relationship Study revealed that thirty-seven (37%) percent of women and twenty-one (21%) percent of men reported experiencing some form of Gender Based Violence (GBV) be it emotional, physical and sexual at least once in their lifetime.

BOTSWANA NETWORK ON ETHICS , LAW AND HIV/AIDS

Established in 2002, the Botswana Network on Ethics, Law and HIV/AIDS (BONELA) is a not for profit, non-governmental organisation, registered under the Societies Act as a health and human rights organization whose vision is to ‘Make the Right to Health a Reality in Botswana’. BONELA’s mission is to ensure promotion, protection and fulfilment of the right to health. BONELA works to promote health and well-being of key and vulnerable groups-Children, Women, Migrant workers, LGBTI community; Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), Female Sex Workers (FSW), Adolescents, People Living with HIV (PLWHIV), People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) and Prisoners. The aim of BONELA’s interventions is to address structural barriers which hinders access to health services by key and vulnerable groups.
