Volunteering

Locally and internationally, volunteers have been an essential part of developing many of BONELA’s initiatives. From time to time, we host more typical volunteer positions in our Gaborone offices to assist full-time or part-time with research, programmes and administration. But more commonly, individuals generously contribute certain skills and/or time to specific BONELA projects.

For example, a number of lawyers have provided legal advice and take on cases pro bono. Healthcare professionals have donated their expertise on HIV-related topics and serve as resource people. Volunteers have also been an integral part of the media campaign, including contributing their professional photography skills, acting as models for the poster photo shoots and as voice artists for the radio jingles, and working on design and production.

BONELA receives countless requests from individuals who would like to assist on a voluntary basis. Because of the size and resources of the organisation, we are only able to accept a limited number of in-office volunteers who can make a specific contribution to a current BONELA project or programme.

Should you be interested in volunteering with us, please send an updated CV; and, a cover letter indicating your motivation and to which specific BONELA programme area or project you believe your skills would contribute.
You will be contacted should a position/project matching your skills and experience become available.
